THE ANC in Mpumalanga has officially suspended its provincial treasurer, Mandla Msibi, following allegations of sabotage during the party's January 8 celebration programmes in Mbombela over the weekend.
In a letter dated 19 January, the Provincial Working Committee (PWC) said it noted with concern Msibi's deliberate behaviour at the organisation's prayer rally that was held in Pienaar in which he addressed ANC members and the community demanding that President Cyril Ramaphosa come and address them and also convene a special meeting of the cabinet to decide on the Nkosi City project prior the January 8 statement anniversary which was held at Mbombela stadium last week Saturday, 13 January.
The PWC said Msibi contravened the party's constitution by engaging in disruptive conduct and sabotaging the ANC January 8 celebration programmes.
"As a member of the Provincial Executive Committee and a provincial treasurer, you understand the importance of following and implementing the organisation's decisions at a given point. The PWC has noted that your conduct was in contravention of the ANC constitution.

"The PWC has further temporarily suspended your membership pending the institution of disciplinary proceedings," reads the letter.
This is not the first time the organisation has suspended Msibi.
The controversial PEC member was suspended in 2022 following murder and attempted allegations.
