A 19-YEAR-OLD from the Southern Cape appeared in the Riversdale Magistrates Court on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 75-year-old gogo.
The case was postponed to 3 February.
He was arrested on Monday, the day after the incident.
Sergeant Christopher Spies said the man, who is known to the gogo, forcibly entered her place in Wilson Street, and allegedly assaulted and raped her before fleeing the scene.

“The victim managed to raise the alarm and her neighbours alerted police,” Spies told the People’s Paper.
The suspect has been charged with rape and assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.
