TEBOHO sells umdoko door to door and kasi people are impressed!

The young woman from Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, told Daily Sun that she had no idea people would love her idea so much and hopes she inspires more young people to step out of “bazothini abantu” and do something to earn a living.

Teboho Ntseare (22) said she started her business in April last year after it was announced that the Covid-19 R350 relief grant will be stopped.

She said her mum had also just lost her job because of the pandemic, so she had to make a plan and help her family.

“I’ve also been looking for a job since I matriculated. I stopped feeling sorry for myself and made the most of the R350,” said Teboho.

Teboho Ntseare said she’d like to see her business grow.

She said when she started, she used a wheelbarrow so people looked at her oddly. But as time went by, they saw how consistent she was and started being supportive of her hustle.

“I told myself I wouldn’t allow negative comments to stop me from doing this and it paid off,” she said.

She said she bought a trolley but people from the mall saw it and confiscated it. She bought another one and they took it again. She’s pimped the third one and she’s still using it – but she’s scared she might lose it as well!

Another challenge is load shedding.

“So I have to use wood to make fire and it takes longer, making my life difficult but this doesn’t stop me,” she said.

She said a gas stove would help her a lot.

Teboho said she’d like to see her business grow because it’s unique.

“While you’re job hunting, try and do something that will generate income for you.”

A friend (24) said she’s proud of Teboho.

“She motivating me to do something with my life. Because of Teboho, I’ve started drawing up my business plan,” she said.
