AFTER spending the whole of Saturday, 18 March marking pupils’ books, Herman Tselane thought a few drinks would help him relax.
But little did the 57-year-old know that would be his last beer.
Sadly, Herman's body, who was a teacher Saint Teresa High School in the North West, was found in Mabopane, north of Tshwane on Sunday, 19 March, despite him living in Bethani, also in the province.
According to Herman's brother Terry, his body was found dumped with the pupils' exercise books next to him.
He said they are not sure what happened, but don’t think anyone could’ve been able to kidnap him as he was a big man.
He said the police are still investigating the cause of death and are waiting for post mortem results, but they believe Herman must have been drugged at the tavern.

“I found his body bleeding from the mouth, but with no signs of struggle, injuries and bullet wounds,” said said Terry, who is the former deputy chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).
He said that the family is not doing well.
"I’ve lost my mom and sister and just when my brother and I were consoling each other, he has now left me. Government must do something about the crime in the country," said Terry.
Saint Teresa high pupils and members of the South African Teachers' Union expressed their heartbreak during a memorial service on Thursday, 23 March.
Principal Nkgomotshe Motaung said it was painful to learn that the police found Herman with the pupils' exercise books next to his body.
“They called me and said they had found his body. I was so shocked and heartbroken,” she said.
Grade 8 pupil Chipo Magogora (15) said teacher Herman was like a father to her.
“He taught me a lot. He was a kind man. He taught me to have courage, always fight for what I believe in, be myself and build a name for myself,” she said.
Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo, said an inquest docket was opened and will be transferred to North West for further investigations.
