DR Tumelo Raymond Ntholeng and his three co-accused appeared at a fully packed Vereeniging Magistrates Court on Monday, 15 April.
Ntholeng (34), who is the ex-husband of the killed Riverside High School teacher Palesa Mofokeng, briefly appeared in court with his co-accused Mzwanele Mazeke (36), Jabulani Thabethe (38), and Pakiso Makhanya (39).
Palesa was shot more than eight times on Friday morning 5 April. She was on her way to work when the incident happened.
On Monday 15 April, the court postponed the case to Tuesday, 16 April, as the accused's lawyers said their clients would take the stand for bail application, not with affidavits.

Accused number one, Mzwanele Mazeke’s lawyer, presented his affidavit to apply for bail, stating that he is the owner of the gun that allegedly shot and killed Palesa, but he said he was beaten by cops, and they allegedly told him that he would tell them what they wanted to hear.
Mazeke, in his affidavit, pleaded not guilty and said during the trial he will still plead not guilty as he didn’t do anything wrong, but cops made him agree to being part of the crime.
He asked the court to pay the R20 000 bail, stating that he'd adhere to bail the conditions because he needed to work so he could finish off paying lobola for his wife, who he has already paid half of the lobola to.
Outside and inside the court, community members, different political parties and organisations came in their numbers supporting the Mofokeng family.
According to sources close to the case, it’s alleged that Ntholeng, who works with doctor without borders allegedly planned to kill Mofokeng since 2023 September, because he didn’t want her to get her hands on his assets.
Palesa was buried on Saturday 13 April at Unitas Memorial Park in Vereeniging, Vaal.
