GAUTENG cops arrested a suspect in Kempton Park on Thursday, 21 April, for alleged hijacking and murder.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, cops received information about a suspect involved in a hijacking and fatal shooting that occurred in Joburg on Friday, 15 April.
Masondo said when the alleged incident took place, the suspect was using a grey Hyundai i20.
“An intelligence-driven operation was conducted and the team pounced on residential premises, where the suspect was arrested. The car, suspected to be used in the commission of crime, was also seized. Preliminary investigation revealed that it was hijacked from the owner in Moffat View,” Masondo said in a statement.
The suspect has been charged with murder and hijacking, and is expected to appear in court soon.
