A YOUNG and talented footballer from Mamelodi East, Tshwane has an opportunity of a lifetime at the Challenge Cup Portugal Tournament, which kicks off on 27 June to 1 July.
Neo Mlambo (12) needs funding to be part of his team which will participate in the tournament in Portugal.
He plays as a midfielder for Sporting CP Under 13 in Queenswood, Tshwane.
His mother, Sizakele Mlambo (39) is pleading for donations, adding that they need between R40 000 and R50 000 so that her son can participate in the tournament.
She said her son loves soccer, which is a massive opportunity for him. Sizakele said the ticket is R21 900 and accommodation is R25 000.
"Please help my son to fulfil his dream of playing at an overseas tournament. If we don't get the money he will not be able to travel and that will dampen his football spirit," she said.

"We are happy about the opportunity but it will be sad if he won't be able to travel abroad," she said.
She said her son is following in the footsteps of his mkhulu, Thabo Mlambo (72), who used to play for Mamelodi United.
Sizakele said even though her son is passionate about soccer, she often encourages him to also take his studies seriously.
Neo's dad, Tshepo Legoabe (46,) said: "It's a good opportunity for my son to go and participate in a tournament abroad."
Mkhulu Thabo said he wishes his grandson all the best and hopes international scouts will see his talent.
"I am proud of him. He is talented, passionate and most importantly, disciplined."
