Brand South Africa hosted a forthcoming announcement of South African’s 2023/24 global reputation study which was held at JSE, in Sandown on Friday April 26. 

The global reputation study evaluates perceptions about South Africa and its reputation across 17 countries including, the US, UK Germany, China Japan Canada, Botswana, Egypt, and Kenya among other countries. 

According to the data that was compiled by Brand South Africa shows that Natural assets, Sports, and Culture are the strongest elements that is growing in South Africa.

ACEO Brand South Africa Ms. Sithembile Ntombela spoke to Daily Sun about the importance of Brand South Africa.

“What we do is to package the pockets of excellence of South Africa, whether it’s Music, film industry, winning an award and we tell a South African narrative, underpinning it with our brand promise when we speak of South Africa that inspires new ways,” said Mthombeni.

She also mentioned that Brand South African does not do profiles with established individuals only they also work with upcoming artists. 

“We have a programme (Play Your Part), It’s a go to action movement where we get South Africans to contribute to a social change, we try and target individuals that are ordinary and we provide them with a platform to share their stories,” added Mthombeni. 

South Africa is most searched for its Cities, Monetary Policies, Metals, Sports, and Universities. Digital searches show what global audiences search for online about South Africa. 

Destinations (cities and regions) is the definite category for tourism related searches, followed by other generic searches including Travel, Attractions, and Tourism Packages among many.

BRAND South Africa recently announced the results of the 2023/24 global reputation study at the JSE in Sandown.

This important study looks at what people in 17 countries, including the US, UK, Germany, China, Japan, Canada, Botswana, Egypt, and Kenya, think about South Africa and its reputation worldwide.

The study, put together by Brand South Africa, found that our natural beauty, sports achievements, and rich culture are what make South Africa stand out on the global stage.

Sithembile Ntombela, the CEO of Brand South Africa, shared with Daily Sun the vital role of Brand South Africa.

"Our job is to highlight South Africa's excellence, from our music and films to our award-winning achievements. We share the South African story, backed by our promise to inspire new ways," Ntombela explained.

She also pointed out that Brand South Africa supports not just well-known figures but also emerging artists.

"Through our 'Play Your Part' program, we encourage South Africans to help make a difference. We focus on ordinary people, giving them a platform to share their stories," she said.

When it comes to what the world wants to know about South Africa, cities, monetary policies, metals, sports, and universities top the list. Online searches reveal the global interest in our country, with tourism destinations being the most sought-after information, followed by travel, attractions, and tourism packages.
