Although giving out gifts is a popular tradition among many and a way to symbolise our love, Mzansi citizens were eager to weigh in on some of the strange gifts that stood out and made an impression on them.

We took to the streets of Randburg in Joburg, and it seems many aren’t good at gifting.
Mzansi citizens can’t help but wonder if their loved ones had good intentions or an excuse to re-gift items and call it a day.
Derika Walstra said: “It’s the one gift I really don’t like getting and that is plants. I don’t have a green thumb or finger. I can’t even keep a plastic plant alive, so I hate it when people give me plants because it keeps me under pressure to keep it alive."
Felicia Snyders said: “The funniest gift I’ve ever received was a shoe box with claps inside of it and not the actual shoe. This was last year in December.”
As these unique gifts spark conversations, one can't help but wonder if there are better ways to approach the art of gift-giving or if understanding the minds of others proves to be challenging.
