JOURNALISTS across Mzansi held a night vigil to demand justice for all media workers killed in Gaza.
More than 100 journalists have been killed since the start of the war between Israel and Palestine in October 2023.
According to Deshnee Subramany, one of the organisers, many journalists were killed because they were doing their job.
"We also say that the problem is that our journalists are being attacked for telling the world about the conflicts in Gaza. Our message is loud and clear: journalists in Gaza and around the world should do their job without being killed.
"We have a moral responsibility and a duty to speak out when journalists are harassed and killed, as in this case. The number of people affected exceeds even the number of all the wars we've had in the past," said Deshnee.

She said they really need to speak out loud and clear and condemn what is going on.
Deshnee said that as journalists, they have a duty to support other journalists in the world, especially those who die in the line of duty.
"The number of journalists killed in Gaza since the brutal war began has risen to 100, men and women, and this has made all journalists in Gaza afraid to continue covering the conflict," Deshnee said.
Mzansi journalists have been holding vigils to demand justice for all media workers killed. People were invited to light candles in honour of journalists who were killed.
Posters with the faces of the dead journalists were laid down and their names written on the boards. Similar vigils were held in several cities and towns in Mzansi and around the world to honour the fallen journalists.
