SOCCER supporters have made a generous donation to flood victims.

The Greater Mogale City Orlando Pirates FC Supporters from Kagiso, Mogale City, donated much-needed items to flood victims in Ntuzuma, KZN on Sunday, 15 May.

They collected clothes and blankets from people as far away as Soweto.

Branch chairwoman Brenda Molebatsi told Daily Sun that they chose to donate to Ntuzuma because they had a branch in the area.

She said they attended the Orlando Pirates Caf match at Orlando Stadium on Sunday and handed over the items to members from Ntuzuma.

“These members will then distribute the clothes in their area. They are in Ntuzuma so they know who really needs clothes,” Brenda said. .

She said that once the items had been distributed, members would give a full report of the number of people who benefited. More than 400 people lost their lives in the flooding in April, and over 50 are still missing. Some bodies found on river banks had still not been identified at government mortuaries.
