LITTLE Ompha Mashila from Lawley, south of in Joburg is looking for her mum, Palesa Moeketsi.
Ompha (6) was born at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto and has no birth certificate. She has been without her mum since the tender age of three.
The circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Ompha's mum, Palesa, remain a mystery.
Ompha only has a clinic card and will be in Grade R this year. To avoid complications, she urgently needs to obtain the necessary documents.
Her gogo, Adelaide Mashila (56), told Daily Sun that they had searched unsuccessfully for her mother.
The strained relationship between Ompha's parents led to conflicts that eventually resulted in them moving from Adelaide's home to a nearby neighbourhood in Lawley.

"Their conflicts affected the child and we tried to help the child get a birth certificate, but the mother failed to help her," the gogo said.
The family is still not sure if Palesa is in possession of an identity card as she did not give any details when asked why she did not apply for a birth certificate for her child.
The gogo expressed the family's concern for Ompha's future.
"We want a better life for my granddaughter because she can't live without an identity," she said.
Daily Sun saw the court order requesting Ompha's father to undergo a DNA test, which he has done.
The results, confirmed by a letter from the National Health, show a positive match confirming the father's paternity.
The gogo said they hope to find someone to reunite Ompha with her mum so the daughter can obtain a birth certificate.
