RESIDENTS are fuming after seeing a video of two daughters assaulting their mum.
The incident occurred in Ga-Mashashane Village outside Polokwane, Limpopo, in October 2022, but resurfaced on social media on Tuesday, 19 September.
In the video that went viral on social media, the daughters can be seen assaulting their 49-year-old mum in public, demanding social grant money.
How it began
Gatvol social media users were baying for their blood and demanded that action be taken against them.
In the video, one daughter can be heard demanding the money from her mum, who said she only had R100 left, and then she slapped her.
Seshego Community Against Crime and Gangsterism chairman, Vincent Kunutu, said they could not sit and watch children assaulting their parents, no matter the reason.
“This is why we went to the village on Wednesday, 21 September, to look for the daughters and ensure the mother gets justice. One daughter was found, and another one is nowhere to be found.

“Their mother is now with relatives for safety purposes until the second one is arrested. She can run but cannot hide, and those hiding her must know that they are also guilty,” said Kunutu.
Social media user Meisie Maphefo said: “One day they will remember her. How can you assault your parent? They should be locked up.”
Police arrest one sibling
Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said they have arrested a female suspect (24) for assaulting her mother.
He said the two siblings assaulted their mum in a public space, and a passerby captured the incident on video, published on different social media platforms.
“The video reached the police, and the mother was approached. She opened a case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm against her two daughters,” said Ledwaba.
He said one of the suspects was immediately arrested. The arrest of the second suspect is still outstanding, but she will be arrested soon.
“She will appear before the Seshego Magistrates Court soon facing a charge of assault GBH while police investigations are continuing,” he said.
