LAST week a pedestrian died after being knocked by a driver trying to avoid a speeding truck.
Hardly a week after residents of Sky City in Ekurhuleni recovered from this shock, yet another accident has claimed lives.
This time a speeding truck rammed into a bakkie killing three people instantly, and four are fighting for their lives in hospital.
Residents said this number adds to countless victims who have died on the R550 road near Sky City.
They said people die on this killer road every week, and there's little authorities are doing to stop the loss of lives.
"The crossroad was not properly planned. That's why more people will keep dying," said resident Joseph Fontein.
He said they want something done about this killer road.
On Tuesday, 15 August, witnesses watched in horror as the bakkie collided with a truck and then dragged the bakkie a few metres away from where the collision occurred.
Another resident, Fanyana Nkosi, said the road is busy and dominated by trucks.

"It becomes difficult to cross as nothing is stopping them. Trucks often come at high speed. There are no stop signs for them. Stop signs are only made for motorists coming from Sky City and neighbouring areas," Fanyana said.
Another resident, Zelda Moeketsi, said they know that this is a provincial road.
"We plead with the authorities to at least build rumble humps for truckers to reduce speed.
"More people die on this road, and it is traumatic for those left behind," Moeketsi said.
Lieutenant-Colonel Kelebogile Thepa confirmed the accident and said it happened at about 9.25am.
She said Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) Thokoza precinct officers attended to the accident involving a white Mercedes-Benz truck and a Nissan light delivery vehicle (LDV), where three people, including the driver of the LDV, were declared dead on the scene.
Thepa said four others were taken to Thelle Mogoerane Hospital with serious injuries.
"It is alleged by the truck driver who was travelling on R550 that the driver of the LDV failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with the truck," she said.
