THe case against seven suspects accused of kidnapping and killing Solomon Mmopane was reminded to 15 May.
This after the suspects briefly appeared in the Moretele Magistrates Court on Thursday, 28 March.
Thabang Chauke (20), Kenneth Matjiu (20), Thabiso Meso (31), Shoni Baloyi (33), Tshepo Lekalakala (34), Jack Masamane (36) and Aaron Ndima (38) are facing charges of murder, kidnapping, malicious damage to property, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm (GBH), defeating the ends of justice, unlawful possession of a firearm, carjacking and violation of a grave.
Solomon’s body was found buried in a shallow grave on top of another grave at Bosplaas West Cemetery on Friday night, 23 February. This after he was reported missing on 18 February at Makapanstad Police Station.
In their previous appearance on Tuesday, 26 March, the attorney representing six of the suspects told the court he was withdrawing from the case.
Samuel Modau said he couldn't disclose the reasons for his withdrawal as this was a matter between attorney and client privilege.
“I have informed them in time of the reasons for my withdrawal, and we understood each other. I have also advised them to get another legal representative, and all the information will be handed to the new lawyer,” Modau said.

Previously, the state said some of the accused had made confessions, and the court postponed for confessions.
Meanwhile, the community of Dertig and surrounding areas demonstrated outside the court, saying they wanted the court to deny them bail until they were sentenced.
Speaking on behalf of the community, Sello Dire said because some are reported to have confessed, they hope the truth will come out and that the confessions might help to solve the case.
Sello said they will not get tired and will come every time the suspects appear to oppose their bail application.
Family member Kgothatso Machate said they are facing a challenge because they can't afford to arrange transport for some of residents who want to offer them support.
She said they have approached the Ward 22 councillor for help as this will set an example among communities that residents should stand together and support those who are victims of crime.
