THE murder trial of Senzo Meyiwa has stalled after it was announced that it cannot continue during the week of 12 to 15 June.
The reason is that presiding Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela is ill.
The trial was scheduled to continue from Monday, 12 to Thursday, June 15, in the North Gauteng High Court, where Zandie Khumalo was to continue her testimony on the events that occurred the night soccer star Senzo Meyiwa was shot dead.
However, instead of the matter continuing, prosecutor Advocate George Baloyi stated that it couldn't due to the absence of the judge.

He said that the judge may also not be able to continue the case permanently for the same reason - his illness.
Baloyi said that that deputy presiding Judge Aubrey Ledwaba will issue a directive on how to proceed with the matter.
He said there is a possibility that the case will get a new judge and proceed with the evidence at hand or summon all the previous witnesses to testify again.
Five men, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokoziseni Maphisa and Sifisokuhle Nkani Ntuli, are on trial for the murder of Meyiwa.
They are charged with premeditated murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of firearms without a licence, and possession of ammunition.
They all pleaded not guilty to the charges.
