TWO more suspects including a school principal (49) have been arrested for the murder of Dr Johannes Mehlape (56).
The principal and another male suspect aged 42 were arrested by police and a private security company in connection with the murder case of Mehlape.
Mehlape, who was the Lebopo circuit manager was shot dead while in his house at Mankweng zone 1 outside Polokwane, Limpopo on 28 December 2023.
The suspects were arrested separately on Wednesday, 24 January, following intensive investigation. The principal was arrested at Moremadi Park after a warrant of arrest was issued.
Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said positive leads then resulted in the arrest of the second suspect who was found at his hiding spot in Mahwelereng zone 1 outside Mokopane.

"He was found in possession of ammunition and a 9mm firearm with a grinded serial number. Preliminary investigations revealed that the recovered firearm was used during the murder of Mehlape," he said.
This brings to five the number of suspects who have since been arrested for Mehlape's murder.
"The two suspects will appear before the Mankweng Magistrate Court alongside their three accomplices, Hlolofelo Mogotlane (33), Tshepo Ranoto (34) and Mologadi Mehlape (28) facing charges of murder, possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition for formal bail application.
"More arrests are expected, and police investigations are still ongoing," said Ledwaba.
Acting provincial police commissioner Major-General Jan Scheepers commended the team for their relentless efforts in arresting additional suspects linked to the murder case.
