CONCERNED residents, including a cop, want a brigadier stationed at Sunnyside Police Station in Tshwane investigated.
According to worried community members, the brigadier allegedly harasses residents and other police officials at the station.
One of the residents said the brigadier is very loud in saying no one will do anything to her.
“She is very unprofessional and makes a lot of noise. Police members are not happy and she moves in and out of the police station making a lot of noise,” said the complainant.
She said the community is also not spared from the cop’s ruthless behaviour.
However, Tshwane district acting police commissioner Brigadier Samuel Thine said the allegations have not been reported to him.
“The police members have processes in place when they feel aggrieved.
“They can approach the office, they have labour unions that are within their stations that they can consult with,” he said.
He said so far, no grievances relating to the abuse of power by the brigadier have landed on his table.
“If there are such grievances, they can come to my office. We have processes to deal with them.
“I will speak to them about the allegations,” he said.
On the other hand, Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said police officers know the internal processes they should follow to air their grievances.
Masondo said the public can report officers on the SAPS Service Complaints number 0800 333 177, head office on 082 442 2000 or 082 759 2590.
