AS the country wraps up January to welcome February, Sassa has confirmed grant payment dates for next month.
However, it's not all glory for beneficiaries of disability and child support grants as they have to wait until the second week of February for their money to clock in due to the weekend.
February Sassa grant payment dates:
Older Persons Grant: Friday, 2 February
Disability Grants: Monday, 5 February
Children’s Grants: Tuesday, 6 February
January proved to be a rather tough month when Sassa failed to pay out 150 000 social grants, including child and old-age grants. This happened at a time when many needed the money to prepare for the commencement of work and the 2024 school year.

This was confirmed on 10 January by the agency.
At the time, Sassa spokesman Paseka Letsatsi attributed the payment failure to verification delays, some of which included beneficiaries not providing correct details that match those registered with to the bank, or error in a name.
"In attempts to prevent wrong grants being received, payments had to be suspended," he said.
However, ActionSA condemned this payment failure, emphasising that "vulnerable communities can't be kept waiting", claiming there are "real human costs to these disbursement bungles".
Commenting on the matter, the party's spokeswoman Lerato Ngobeni said Sassa must provide technical assurance on when the challenges will be resolved, and immediate payments made thereafter to those recipients who have not been paid.
Meanwhile, good news is still on the side of expired Sassa gold card users. Postbank still maintains that even if the beneficiaries' Sassa gold cards have expired, they remain valid and will continue to work throughout 2024.
