A FOUNDATION has been established to keep the spirit of Sam Mbatha alive and create awareness about the Lesbian, Gays, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI) community.
The Sam Junior Mbatha Foundation will also help people who wanted to study at the North West University with the application processes.
The 24-year-old socialite was found dead, burnt in the boot of a Hyundai i20 at a soccer field in Ikageng in Klipgat after he went missing last June.
Public relations officer Masego Dichwene said the foundation was started to help young people who completed matric and struggling to get their affairs in order.
“We realised it becomes difficult sometimes for people to apply online because of data. We’re here to help those people,” said Masego.
He said those who needed help could drop off their details at Madidi Primary School in Mabopane and Moagi General Dealer. He said they wanted to educate people about the LGBTQI community.
“This is a beautiful and colourful community. We also want to create awareness about the killings within the community so they stop.”
