BAKHE Bhembe who is accused of murdering his mum will remain behind bars.
The 39-year-old, who is accused of hacking his 73-year-old mum Busisiwe to death with an axe, made a brief appearance in the Protea Magistrates Court in Soweto on Thursday, 22 June.
Protea Glen community members came out in numbers to support the family and to advocate for no bail for Bhembe. They said he was a threat to the community and showed no signs of remorse.
Tshidi Mgudi, a neighbour who was called by the victim's other son to see what his elder brother had allegedly done to their mum, told Daily Sun she was happy the accused would be kept in jail.

“I’m happy with today’s appearance because the accused was denied bail which is what we want as a community,” said Tshidi.
Resident Nomfanelo Gumede said she came to support Tshidi as they attended the same church.
Nomfanelo said the accused was feared in his community and had allegedly, upon his arrest, threatened the community, saying he'd deal with them when he comes back.
“My heart is painful knowing that this man wants to apply for bail. Once he gets out, he will finish us all ‘abo mamgobhozi’. We fear him. We do not want to see him,” said another resident, Nelly Khumalo.
ActionSA member Ntlahla Dungayezi said: “We are sad that the case has been postponed for the third time. However, we are saying no bail.”
The matter was postponed to 27 July.
