BLACK FRIDAY has received a normal day treatment by residents of rural municipalities in the Free State.
The businesses opened as early as 5:00am with no maximum participation of customers in Phuthaditjhaba, Harrismith and Bethlehem CBDs compared to previous years.
People blamed the recent Covid-19 pandemic that left the country with a high rate of unemployment and a deteriorating economy.
Daily Sun spoke with a few customers in different Central Business Districts, where many pointed fingers at unemployment for the low and poor turnout.

The unemployed Godfrey Moloi (33) said the deadly Covid-19 pandemic has negatively impacted this year's Black Friday.
"We couldn't expect many to come out in numbers while the majority are unemployed," he said
Lebohang Lepota(37) said Black Friday is a nightmare for unemployed South Africans.
"The 350 social grant is not enough to buy necessary items. If you buy food cosmetics will be a problem. Our government must address unemployment to strengthen buying power," said Lebohang.
