PRESIDENT Cyril Ramaphosa’s nemesis former MKMVA spokesman Carl Niehaus was drowned out at Nasrec where the ANC national executive committee is meeting to discuss the president’s future.
Often a lone loud voice staging a one man protest calling for Ramaphosa’s head, Niehaus found himself with unwanted company.
The square off happened outside the gates of the venue as the rival factions braved the rain to come to protest.
A handful of Ramaphosa’s supporters waving placards on his face, vowed that Ramaphosa was not going nowhere.
The president’s supporters went to the extent of blocking Niehaus from being snapped and hide his “Ramaphosa must fall” sign.
“You must ask them who is paying them to come. Yesterday, some of them came from Ramaphosa’s branch in Soweto,” claimed Niehaus.
He said he would not be deterred on his call for Ramaphosa to resign over the Phala Phala saga.
But Ramaphosa’s supporters completely disagree and are calling for him to be defended by the NEC.
One such supporter is Wendy Matsemela from Rustenburg.
“I am here to support my president and I want everyone out there who thinks president Ramaphosa is going to leave to know that the president is not going anywhere,” she said.
Matsemela reminded the ANC that while it has a few million followers, more millions voted for Ramaphosa in the national polls.
“We love this man. That’s why I am here today to defend him,” she said.
