WELCOME Marcus (55) was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the Stilfontein Regional Court for theft of R3 million at a Nedbank in Klerksdorp.
The Hawks said on 11 April 2018, the accused and his accomplice were dressed in security uniforms when they went into a Nedbank branch at Anderson Street and said they were there to collect money.
“It was only after they left that bank officials realised that the pair were bogus security officials,” Hawks’ Captain Tlangelani Rikhotso said.

The case against the second accused was later dropped.
