FREE State Premier Mxolisi Dukwana's official residence caught fire on Thursday, 23 March.
The premier's spokesman, Sello Dithebe, said they're investigating the cause of the fire that severely damaged the house in Bloemfontein.
The house was under renovation, and the premier had not yet moved in but would occasionally use some of the facilities for meetings.

"Nobody was injured. The premier himself was not there during the incident.
"We are grateful for the immediate response of the Mangaung Metro Municipality fire department. They managed to contain the fire on time," he said
The police were at the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
At the time of the incident, the premier had visited ward 17 in Pau Roux in Dihlabeng Municipality, where his party is contesting the by-elections.
