FIFTY-THREE people were injured following a collision on Isibanisezwe Road in Waterloo, Durban, on Sunday afternoon, 26 June.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa, the bus consisted of friends and family who were returning from a funeral in Buffelsdraai, Verulam, when the accident occurred.
Netcare 911 spokesman Shawn Herbst said local cops and private ambulance services attended the scene.
“Reports indicate that the driver of a bus with 68 passengers lost control, resulting in a rollover. Medics assessed the scene and found that 53 of the occupants had sustained minor to serious injuries,” Herbst said.
He said all the patients were treated on the scene and once stabilised were transported by government and private ambulances to the hospital.
