MEMBERS of a family from Tembisa, Ekurhuleni, have shared their terror of five years with evil spirits.

They told Daily Sun they were terrified of the early hours of the morning as their home became haunted.

This lasted until recently when they received prayers from a church.

A bird flying in the house, footsteps on the rooftop, unusual insects crawling up the walls and hearing voices were some of the strange things the Sekele family experienced.

They said although they have had peaceful nights for nearly three weeks now, they are keeping their guard up.

The mother Stephina Sekele (55) said in the past, they couldn’t share their pain with neighbours for fear of being judged and accused of lying.

But now they are comfortable to tell their story with the hope of helping others.

Stephina said they moved into their home nearly 15 years ago.

She said the strange thing at the time was the sewage that piled up only at their house.

But five years ago, things started becoming worse.

She said: “Out of nowhere, a bird will come out of the geyser in the ceiling and comfortably fly in the house.

We would run outside, leaving the door open. It will continue to fly in the house until we started praying. We have checked the geyser many times looking for it but found nothing.

“All these strange things were often happening around 2am. We would also hear footsteps on the roof, but when we check no one is there. There would also be a loud sound of a leakage, but when we check nothing was leaking.

“Every morning at 2am, a message would come through to my husband’s phone but when we look for it, we couldn’t find it.”

Stephina said her husband and son were the ones mostly affected by these spiritual happenings and early this year, they became “walking zombies”.

She said her husband is a talkative person but suddenly went quiet.

“My husband hardly said a word and became forgetful. When I talk to him, he only stared at me with his eyes wide open. He was like a zombie,” she said.

Stephina said: “My son also presented the same behaviour. I feared the worst.”

She said she knew she had to take some action when her son told her that he heard a familiar voice telling him that the only reason he is still alive was because of his mum.

Stephina reached out to Prophet Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng, who is running a campaign called Phuma Tokoloshe, which started in April and will end in October.

A relative said: “Inside the house, there were strange insects and weird sounds like a tap is leaking. I was worried, so I hope everything is back to normal for good.”

Stephina said both her husband and son’s strange behaviour has improved after they got help.

Speaking to Daily Sun about the prayer that was held at the Sekele home, Mboro said: “There were a lot of invisible things in that house, and many of them came out and we were able to see them with our naked eyes.”

Mboro said prayers were used to fight the evil spirits.

We use the anointing of Jesus to pray for people to come back to Christ. “Using animals and spirits, it blocks people’s progress.

“People outside the kingdom of God submitted to the powers of darkness that are cruel and represents the devil. It is for this reason tokoloshe and evil spirits exists.
