A GROUP of young girls marched to the Orange Farm Police Station in the south of Joburg on Tuesday afternoon, 3 October, asking cops not to release an 18-year-old teenager who left his girlfriend for dead on Monday, 2 October, at an open field next to lakeside dam.
This was after the teenager allegedly stabbed his pregnant girlfriend six times on her back and stoned her head, because she allegedly refused to have an abortion.
According to the victim's mum, her daughter is fighting for her life in hospital after the incident.
The mother said after her daughter informed her boyfriend that she was pregnant and that her family would soon come to his home, the suspect began being violent.
“My daughter stopped seeing the boy, but he was calling every day demanding to meet my daughter. And on Monday, she decided to go and meet him at their usual spot, but things turned ugly as the boy had other plans,” she said.

“We understand that he stabbed her and stoned her on the head. Luckily, my daughter was rushed to hospital where she is fighting for her life."
Community leaders told Daily Sun that the young man feared his father, which led to him allegedly trying to force his girlfriend to have an abortion.
“It's alleged that the lady refused to do an abortion, and that’s when he stabbed her six times and stoned her,” they said.
Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said that an 18-year-old teenager was arrested for stabbing his girlfriend on Thursday, 5 October.
Nevhuhulwi said Orange Farm police arrested an 18-year-old teenager after he reportedly stabbed his girlfriend of the same age on Monday, 2 October, at Lakeside Side Park.
She said the suspect has already appeared in the Vereeniging Magistrates Court on a charge of attempted murder.
