RESIDENTS of Olievenhoutbosch in Tshwane said they are tired of crime in their Kasi.
They said they want police visibility because, from 6pm daily, people get robbed.
Thugs allegedly target children who are going to the shops and rob them of their cellphones and money.
The residents further said that at night, people are robbed and killed, and they hear gun sounds almost every day.
Resident Samuel Thabethe (62) told Daily Sun that they always encourage children to be home before 6pm because the place is unsafe for them to be on the streets.
"We always encourage our children to be at home and not on the streets at night because it's not safe for them," he said.
Another resident, Titus Sgudla (58), said that he taught his children that by 6pm, they must be home.
"So far, all my children are disciplined and listen to me. My heart beats when I see children walking on the streets at night. Sometimes, I will hear them screaming and be scared to go outside because it's not safe at night," he said.

Titus said that from 8pm, it's time for crime in Olievenhoutbosch. We hear gun sounds until around 4am.
"We are tired of burying victims of crime. We are not safe anymore in our kasi," he said.
Titus said that they were the first residents to start living in Olievenhoutbosch.
He said walking on the streets after 6pm is no longer safe.
Tshwane district police spokesman Warrant Officer Johan van Dyk said that Olievenhoutbosch cop shop has received information about the robberies and is putting extra patrols through crime wardens and crime prevention officers.
"There were two shooting incidents that were reported and are being investigated. Not all shooting incidents are being reported. We request the community to report shooting incidents so that they can be investigated. Each shooting incident will be addressed and investigated as is being reported," he said.
He said police are doing extra patrols on the hot spots.
