AN alleged North West serial killer is set to make her first appearance before the Mmabatho Magistrates Court in Mahikeng on Friday, 17 November

The widowed woman (49) dubbed as Rosemary Ndlovu 2.0 is linked to a series of murders within her family for financial gain through insurance claims.

She was traced and arrested on Thursday morning, 16 November, in Centurion, Gauteng following a take down operations championed by Sergeant Keshi Mabunda.

Mabunda previously played a key role in the arrest of convicted serial killer Rosemary Nomia Ndlovu.

This was confirmed by police spokeswoman Brigadier Athlenda Mathe on Thursday.

“For the past two months, Sergeant Keshi Mabunda and a team of detectives have been working on this case following a tip-off from relatives of this suspect.

“Mabunda was roped in to kick-start investigations due to his expertise in solving similar cases.

“Through analysis and collection of evidence including the exhumation of a body, the team was able to link its latest suspect to the team’s first focus of the case,” Mathe said.

The woman, who is named Segomotsi Setshwantsho, is linked to the murders of her husband who died in 2016, her son who died in July 2023 and two daughters who died in 2015 and 2005.

She has also been linked to a murder of a relative who died in March 2023.

“The murder was initially ruled as ‘natural death’ and happened in Mmabatho in the North West, where a female relative died under mysterious circumstances.

“Investigations have revealed that the suspect fraudulently took out insurance on behalf of her relative, prior to her murder,” Mathe said.

In the meantime, Mathe has called on insurance companies and members of the public to report cases where they suspect foul play or criminal activity when it comes to insurance policies or claims.
