COMMUNITY leaders from Borolelo near Swartruggens, North West, visited the Kgetleng Rivier municipal head office to demand answers.
This follows a protest resident had embarked on over service delivery on Wednesday, 28 June.
The leaders demanded a meeting with the municipal manager and the mayor, stressing that their service delivery issues needed serious intervention.
Community leader Rammupudu Moeketsi said the purpose of the visit was to seek answers regarding the construction of the Borolelo entrance road project, which was since abandoned.
They also alleged that some people working there are the mayor's friends and family.
Moeketsi said they feel sidelined on municipal projects as there are people who are being prioritised over general public members.
"Community members must benefit from the road project because there's a high unemployment rate in the area," he said.
He said the road project was abandoned for the longest time and only resumed after the recent protest.

He emphasised that they were not against the project but demanded that a proper recruitment process be followed.
Kgetleng Mayor Thabo Jacobs said the leaders did not make formal meeting arrangements.
Jacobs dismissed allegations of nepotism, saying he feels they are personal attacks directed at tarnishing his reputation.
"We will not entertain issues that are not tangible or related to service delivery," he said.
Jacobs highlighted that the municipality was financially strained; however, they had to prioritise water and road projects, amongst others.
He said due to a lack of funds, the municipality had to source labour internally through the Expanded Public Works Programme(EPWP), and that was clarified in community meetings.
