YOU WON'T GET A JOB IF YOU GIVE UP!

This year a lot of young people posted pictures of their graduation ceremonies on social media.

Now that they’ve completed their studies, they’ve joined the large number of South Africans who are looking for jobs.

Some got jobs shortly after they graduated, and we are happy for them.

But it is a different story for those who were not so lucky.

According to Stats SA’s quarterly employment survey, the country shed 16 000 jobs in the third quarter.

We were also informed of looming retrenchments at large companies including the SABC.

As the end of the year draws closer, it is crucial for jobseekers to reflect on the year and plan for next year.

A job summit was held this year with the aim of addressing unemployment.

Promises were made and a task team was appointed to monitor the implementation process.

Being unemployed is not easy, but it helps to hope for the best. Giving up is simply not the solution.

Jobseekers must dust themselves off and network.

The more people you know, the better your chances of getting information about vacancies.

Good luck to all the jobseekers.
