MORE than 400 cops on Friday received medals for their dedicated service.

The medals were presented to men and women in blue who’ve served between 10 and 40 years.

The event was held at Clive Solomons Stadium in Heidedal, Free State.

Provincial police commissioner Lieutenant-General Moeketsi Sempe urged cops to continue working hard to protect citizens.

“You were chosen to lead policing and to remain loyal,” said Sempe.

National police human resource head Lieutenant- General Dineo Ntsiea gave medals to the cops. She said she was honoured to be part of the occasion.

“I’m happy with the presence of families who came to support their loved ones.

“Our commander-in- chief, General Khehla Sitole, sends his regards as he couldn’t be with us today.

“Attitude and not aptitude is the most valuable key to the success of this organisation.”
