WHEN sangoma Nobuhle Doyisa (52) welcomed a patient into her home on Monday, little did she know she had minutes to live.

As soon as she asked the man what he needed help with, he pulled out a gun and started shooting.

He killed the sangoma and wounded a toddler.

Speaking from the family home in Umlazi, the sangoma’s daughter, Ntombifikile Doyisa (37) said she was in her bedroom while her mum was consulting.

“When the client came in, I was in my bedroom. I heard my mum asking him what he needed.”

Ntombifikile said she suddenly heard her mum screaming that the man was going to kill her.

But it was too late. The man had fired four shots at her mum and two at a toddler in the house.

Her mum died at the scene and the toddler was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Ntombifikile’s sister Thobekile (27) said: “My mum told me about a problem she had with people but I can’t give the details right now.”

KZN cop spokeswoman Captain Nqobile Gwala confirmed the incident.

She said murder and attempted murder cases are being investigated by Umlazi police.
