THESE stupid Free State thugs must be very angry and disappointed.

The six are wanted by cops after robbing Theunissen Post Office on Wednesday, holding a security guard hostage while they cut the safe open.

The dumb thugs fled with a total of R192, or, if they share their loot equally, R32 each!

The incident left post office staff shocked but laughing at the same time.

Staff members said the men could now only afford loose cigarettes and a bottle of beer after their hard work.

One said: “What can a thug buy with R32?

“It won’t even buy a six-pack of cider or beer. I can only imagine how they feel after getting only R192 that they have to share.

“Maybe they might even fight over the money and kill or injure each other.

“This is funny because they were dumb to think we had lot of money at the post office.

“They might have thought we had Sassa money,” the staff member said.

Police spokeswoman Sergeant Mamello Mokhuoane confirmed the incident and said the men tied up the security guard at about 3am on Wednesday, while they used a grinder to open the safe.

“Before fleeing the scene, the six suspects assaulted and threatened to kill the guard if he screamed.

“They made off with the sum of R192.

“A passerby found the security guard and called the police.

“A case of business robbery was opened for investigation,” Mokhuoane said.

Anyone who may have been approached by a gang of six thugs for spare cash or who has information about the incident should call Detective-Captain Anton Naude at 082 301 3028.
