ACCUSED number one in the Nateniel Julies murder trial, Caylene Whiteboy alleged that police tampered with the crime scene during her testimony in the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge on Friday, 19 April.
Whiteboy made this claim during cross-examination by state prosecutor Advocate Johan Badenhorst.
Badenhorst showed Whiteboy photos taken on the first week of September 2020, six days after the incident happened.
The photos showed Hillbrow Flats in Eldorado Park, south of Joburg, where Nateniel was shot and the position of the truck on the day of the incident.
Whiteboy looked at the photos and responded: “The truck is moved close to the fence of the Hillbrow flats. It was never standing there.

“There's a car in-between the flats and the truck. It was never there, the truck itself was standing close to the flats in the second windows, the last two windows of the flats. This is not how the crime scene looked that night, then I can’t comment,” said Whiteboy.
Badenhorst said Whiteboy was aiming at the shooting of the deceased.
“Ms Whiteboy that’s why I put it to you that at the time you pulled the trigger, that barrel was aiming directly at the deceased,” said Badenhorst.
Whiteboy shook her head and responded by saying she did not agree.
Badenhorst asked Whiteboy if she could look out of the van window, she could see the deceased and she responded and said yes.
“The same window you could look straight to the deceased, knowing there was a human being on the other side of that window, you chose to fire this weapon in the way you were never trained to fire it,” Badenhorst said.
“I didn’t know there’s live ammunition and how was I supposed to know someone who died,” responded Whiteboy.
Badenhost said for the next question there was a rubber bullet inside the shotgun.
“The point is you were going to pull the trigger in the way you never pulled the trigger before, here there was a human being on the other side of the window.”
Whiteboy said if it was a rubber bullet, it was never going to touch the deceased.
The three former Eldorado Park cops, Constable Whiteboy, Sergeant Simon "Scorpion" Ndyalvane, and Detective-Sergeant Voster Netshiongolo, are accused of killing Nateniel on 26 August 2020.
Nateniel was shot and killed in Eldorado Park, south of Joburg.
The trial was postponed to 2 May.
