SHE blocked a knife that was meant to stab her friend to death – and this made the stabber angry.
He allegedly told Nthabiseng Ngcobo that he was going to show her.
And when the 37-year-old from Angelo squatter camp in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, went home, she found her shack in flames.
But they couldn’t put the fire out as it was out of control. Nthabiseng lost everything in the fire, including her child’s school uniform.
About the incident, she said she was not going to let her friend’s boyfriend attack her. “My friend could have died had I not pushed him away.
“He was out of control and wanted to kill her,” she said.
Nthabiseng sustained a cut on her finger while they were fighting for the knife.
Her friend Nompendulo Mbutho (38) said she ran away from her place for safety reasons.
“I hear from my neighbours that he keeps coming back to look for me. My boyfriend is abusive and controlling. and possessive.
“I visited my sister on the day of the incident. He came back armed to ask why I was not at our place and was visiting people,” she said.
“He produced a knife to stab me, but I ducked. My friend fought with him to take the knife away from him. I thank my friend for saving my life, I could be dead by now.”
An attempted murder case has been opened with the Boksburg East police. and cops are investigating.
