Mutilated body found in bushes

A DECOMPOSED and mutilated body, suspected to be of a sangoma, was found in the bushes near Sekoto River at Namahadi Village in Phuthaditjhaba, Limpopo.

Police are looking for the community assistance with regard to the sangoma, who was found on 30 June by people collecting wood.

A boy (16) made the gruesome discovery when he was cutting wood near the river bank on 30 June. Warrant Officer Mmako Mophiring said the deceased was wearing red, blue and white beads on the right hand.

the right hand had been cut loose from the body. “Other upper body parts were missing. On the right hand, the body had red, blue and white beads. It was in a state of decomposition. An inquest case’s been opened.” The remains were taken for a postmortem.
