ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) member Cassel Mathale and Mpumalanga ANC chairman, Mandla Ndlovu, have lashed former president Jacob Zuma and his MK Party.
They were speaking at an event in Thulamahashe, Mpumalanga, where they said they weren't bothered by Zuma's "small" party.
The event, which was held at Fountain of Living Waters Church hall, was attended by members of ANC, Cosatu, SACP, Umkhonto we Sizwe Veteran's Associations members, as well as Transport Minister Sindisiwe Chikunga, MP Tim Mashele and Ehlanzeni ANC regional secretary, Folus Sibuyi.
President Cyril Ramaphosa and Deputy President Paul Mashatile were expected to speak at the event but didn't show up due to security concerns.
Ndlovu said they were surprised by some of the confused MK members who ran from the ANC and joined Zuma's party.

"Some of those MK members from here in Bushbuckridge sub-region benefited a lot from us. They decided to join Msholozi’s MK Party, but when asked who their leadership is in this area, they don't know them. They're lying using our own cadre's name. We are sick and tired of being annoyed by them every day. Zuma must call a meeting for himself alone and do a self-introspection in Nkandla. He should come to his senses with what he is saying. He wants to be an ANC member but voting for another organisation," he said.
Mathale ascended to the stage accompanied by the chanting cadres who also attacked Zuma.
Sibuyi said that they are ready for a large turnout at the January 8 statement, with more than 70 000 comrades expected in Mbombela on Saturday, 13 January.
Accommodation has been fully booked, indicating strong support from various municipalities.
