THE police in Mpumalanga are investigating the motive behind the murder of an ANC councillor, Thabo Ngwenya.
The 35-year-old from Mangweni in Nkomazi was shot and killed at his home on Tuesday night, 2 April.
According to police spokesman Donald Mdhluli, four armed suspects wearing balaclavas shot Ngwenya twice in the stomach, and he died in hospital where he was receiving treatment.

The suspects then fled the scene with his bakkie and cellphones.
His wife was also assaulted during the incident.
Ngwenya was also the chairman of the Municipal Public Accounts Committee in the Nkomazi Municipality.
