REVEREND Bongani Monyeki of the Shembe Nazareth Baptist Church Jburg CBD branch claims the notorious Modimolle Mountain in Limpopo communicates with him.
The 57-year-old said the mountain gave him a message to pass on to people.
He said it all started 16 years ago when he dreamt about the mountain.
“I didn’t know where the mountain was and only found it in 2018.
“People told me how dangerous the mountain was and that if you go there without doing ancestor’s rituals, you won’t come back. But I feared nothing. I went there in March and came back alive,” he said.
The reverend said he went to the mountain on 30 March to pray and the mountain told him to tell people to start believing in the ancestors and not forget where they came from.
“All Limpopo kings, queens and communities should pray and perform traditional rituals at the mountain to connect with their ancestors to get luck and powers. The mountain told me to remind people not to forget about their roots, culture and tradition. Many people have bad luck as they have forgotten about their ancestors. They no longer do what their forefathers did,” he said.
He told Daily Sun that people should not be afraid to go to the mountain to pray and perform rituals. “But you must be pure before you climb it and you must first perform rituals at the gate of the mountain,” he said.
Sangoma Justice Ramoadi said Modimolle was an ancestral mountain and should be respected.
“Our ancestors left their things there. People go there to perform rituals or when they want to communicate with their ancestors to get luck and powers. Not every one should go to the mountain,” he said.
