TWO pupils from Lesedi-Sedi Primary School were killed when a Toyota minibus lost control and overturned in Moreke Village, Limpopo.
The incident occurred near Chromex Mine on Thursday morning, 7 March, around 7.30am.
Two of the victims, aged seven and 11, tragically lost their lives at the scene, while eight passengers were seriously injured, and another nine sustained minor injuries.
The injured victims were taken to Mecklenburg Hospital. Residents, gripped by shock and disbelief, gathered at the accident scene.
Speaking to Daily Sun, a resident said: "Questions linger around scholar transport safety measures and the responsibility of those entrusted with the lives of our children."

Limpopo DA spokeswoman for education, Katlego Phala, extended the department's condolences to the bereaved families.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the parents, families and friends of the deceased. We wish the injured pupils speedy recovery," she said.
Tidimalo Chuene, spokeswoman for the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety, said two pupils travelling in a Toyota minibus were killed when the incident happened.
"Two pupils were killed in a motor vehicle accident. It's reported that the minibus they were travelling in lost control and overturned, killing the pupils and seriously injuring eight passengers while other nine passengers are reported to have sustained minor injuries," said Chuene.
The SunTeam contacted the school and was told an official response will be made in two days' time.
