PUPILS need to have a proper school for them to perform well in their studies.
Limpopo education MEC Polly Boshielo officially handed over the renovated and newly constructed buildings of Rita Primary School at Rita Village, outside Tzaneen, on Tuesday, 31 May.
At a cost of R20 million, the school now has a new admin block, nutrition centre, two blocks of brick classrooms, 20 toilets, a guardhouse and a borehole.
Pupils and parents were over the moon when they entered the new learning space.
MEC Boshielo said they were mandated to provide proper and habitable teaching and learning areas.
“This is one of the nine schools we were able to complete in this financial year. We will continue to hand over these schools to their communities,” Boshielo said.
She explained that they also had six other schools that were currently under construction. She urged villagers to protect the school from vandalism.
