A 27-YEAR-OLD man was arrested at the Jeppes Reef Border Post between South Africa and Eswatini.
Cops believe he was trafficking zol when they intercepted him on Monday, 18 April, at around 12.10pm.
Police spokesman Brigadier Selvy Mohlala said the man was arrested during one of the Easter weekend operations.
He said the police were busy with their routine duties, including patrolling the border between South Africa and Eswatini, when they spotted a suspicious man who used an illegal crossing near Jeppes Reef to enter into South Africa.
“He was stopped and after searching him, police noticed that he had wrapped dagga, weighing about 1,90kg, around his body. The estimated street value of the dagga is at about R2 964,” Mohlala said.
He was arrested and charged for possession of dagga.
He is expected to appear in the Nkomazi Magistrates Court today, 19 April.
