A 35-YEAR-OLD man is due to appear in court on 13 December, following the rape of a pupil.

According to the cops, the 12-year-old pupil was apparently coming back from school in October this year when she was called to the suspect’s shack and raped.

After two months, the incident was reported to the cops and the suspect was arrested.

It’s reported that the girl was forcibly undressed and allegedly raped. She was threatened not to tell anyone about the rape ordeal.

The child kept quiet for two months until she broke the silence on 10 December when she told a relative about the rape.

Brandfort police in the Free State were summoned and the victim led them to the 35-year-old suspect who was arrested.

He is facing a charge of raping a minor and will appear in the Brandfort Magistrates Court soon.

The district commissioner of Lejweleputswa, Major-General Lerato Molale, praised the girl for breaking her silence even though she was threatened. He also encouraged others to do the same.
