MAMA Joy Chauke, once Orlando Pirates' biggest fan, was heartbroken when she was denied entry at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Wednesday, 3 May.
The football supporter shared a video of herself pleading with security guards to let her in for the match between Pirates and Royal AM Football Club.
When the people standing next to her asked if she had been told why she wasn't allowed in, she said: “They didn’t. They also don’t know why. Nobody knows. No one has explained anything.”
Mama Joy had an interview with Newzroom Afrika on Thursday, 4 May and cried because she said she was still heartbroken.

“I’m still crying because I don’t know what happened. You go to the game, you buy your own ticket and then denied entry. The stadium is my home. Where there’s a stadium, Mama Joyce is there. I was so surprised,” she said.
She said security guards were told not to let her in, and she went to the police station to help her gain access.
“After I went to the police station to report that I was denied entry to the stadium, the police intervened and when I went there, it was half-time. I waited for Nhlanhla, the Pirates security guard, because they said without him, I can’t enter. I have to wait for him,” Mama Joy said.
“This has never happened before. I’ve never experienced anything like this… No one has ever denied me entry. Why Orlando Stadium? They can't do this to me,” Mama Joy said crying.
Mama Joy was a fan of Pirates for 30 years before leaving them for Royal AM in 2021.
Daily Sun made several attempts to contact the stadium management but they had not responded by the time of publishing.
