ACCUSED number two in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has been identified as being one of the assailants who were in the house when the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper was gunned down.
The identification was made by the third state witness and a friend to the late Meyiwa, Tumelo Madlala, at the North Gauteng High Court in Tshwane today, 15 September.
Madlala is one of the seven people who were in the house when Meyiwa was gunned down in an alleged botched robbery at the home of singer Kelly Khumalo in Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, in October 2014.
Madlala identified Bongani Ntanzi after Advocate George Baloyi said that on Wednesday, 14 September, Madlala had indicated that he was feeling uncomfortable with being in the same room with the intruder.
Advocate Baloyi asked: “Who is the person making you uncomfortable?”
Madlala answered by saying: “In my statement, I mentioned that if I see that person, I can point them out.”
He further said: “The sad part with this case is that what I’m doing, I’m not doing it for the Meyiwa family, but for my friend Senzo.”

He said he won’t come to the court and say something that is not true.
“I’m here to say something that happened in my presence. I will not lie about a person in a matter like this, even the person knows,” he said.
Madlala pointed out the accused wearing a blue T-shirt as the one who Meyiwa was pressing against the wall.
Lawyer to accused number one to four, TT Thobane, objected to the dock identification, stating that it was procedurally not correct.
Ntanzi smiled after being pointed out by Madlala.
