THE nurse met the man of her dreams on Facebook last April and was swept away!

But today she’s broke after her boyfriend got her to resign so she could get her pension.

The plan was they would start a restaurant franchise, but he has run away with over R300 000 of her money.

The woman who worked at Far East Hospital in Springs, Ekurhuleni is now jobless, lost her car and is penniless. She moved in with her family in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga.

She tried opening a case of fraud at Brakpan cop shop, but police allegedly told her because they had an affair, they couldn’t help her. Her nightmare started on Freedom Day last April. The guy from Burundi sent her text privately. “He asked me where I was working. Little did I know he was scamming working women on Facebook,” she said.

Then she got messages from a prophet, who said the ancestors were sending millions her way, but they needed rituals.

She said the prophet bathed them in muthi and took them to the cemetery in Boksburg.

“I told him I’m from Bushbuckridge, so how could I speak to ancestors I’m not connected with? The prophet said I could speak to them remotely. It was like a veil of muthi was over my face and I found myself agreeing to everything.”

They allegedly bought goats to sacrifice and put them in the middle of the road.

After the ritual, her boyfriend told her they were both going to resign from their jobs to start their franchise.

“He told me he was working for Burundi Embassy in Tshwane and brought resignation forms from work,” said the woman.

She was reluctant to resign but the prophet told her the ancestors would deposit R3 million into her account. She then transferred the money into what they said was a business account. That was last month, but now the boyfriend, the prophet and the money are gone. Captain Johannes Ramphora advised the woman to open a case in Springs as the incident happened at a mall there.
