A MEMORIAL service will be held for Khayalethu Magadla tomorrow, 8 July.
This comes after the six-year-old boy’s body was found after a frantic search, which started on 12 June.
Khayalethu fell into a manhole while playing with his two friends.
His body was found on Saturday, 2 July, at the splitter chamber on the first manhole towards the samp situated at Eldorado Park Waste Plant.
According to Joburg Emergency Management Services spokeswoman Nana Radebe-Kgiba, Khayalethu’s body was found by the rescue and recovery team comprising of 35 EMS officials, Hazmat and Urban Search technicians, K-9 unit, air wing, Delta Scan, ambulance personnel from Gauteng and 60 members of Joburg Water.
“It had been an excruciating 20 days for the family since the search began for the six-year-old boy,” said Radebe-Kgiba.
