RESIDENTS were left in shock after the wife of a liquor shop manager was kidnapped in broad daylight on Wednesday, 19 October, in Bellville, Cape Town.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, the woman was seen sitting behind the till and moments later, she walked towards two men who appeared to be customers.
One man was wearing a red work suit and the other a black T-shirt.
The man in red appeared to be showing the woman a piece of paper to read.
Suddenly the man wearing black walked past and shoved a gun on the woman’s back.
Another man in blue appeared and they walked the terrified woman out of the shop.
While the woman was being taken out of the shop, two other men entered the shop and walked past the till and quickly disappeared from the camera.
Another woman, who seemed like a staff member, was also seen walking towards the direction in which the men had gone.
One man appeared again on camera walking towards the till.
He was seen searching for something but walked away empty-handed.

Police spokesman Colonel Andre Traut said the woman was driven off in a VW Polo after she was forcibly removed from the shop.
He said the incident happened around 11.45am on Strand Street in Bellville.
“Three armed men approached a security guard at a liquor store in Strand Street and threatened him with a firearm.
“They then proceeded to the 27-year-old wife of the store manager, forcibly removed her from the premises and fled in a VW Polo,” he said.
Traut said no arrests have been made yet.
The incident happened just weeks after a 35-year-old woman was kidnapped on Thursday, 29 September, on Ipswitch Road in Blue Downs.
She was reconciled with her family more than a week later.
